  • A side note...

I should have mentioned that the poem previously posted is NOT one of my children's poems. That was just a crazy funny one. Here is two examples of my kid's poetry:

I had a day old sandwich sitting on my shelf

    but now it is gone

It couldnt have grown legs and walked away

from the shelf it was upon.

    Could aliens have landed here

    looking for a snack?

And transported themselves to my room

Ate my sandwich then zapped themselves back?

Maybe a very large team of ants

    charged into my room

they smelled the aroma of day old bread,

then took it to their house for all the ants to consume!

    Where did it go?

    Where could it be?

Oh now I remember, I got hungry last night so!

    It's inside of me!!

    And one more:

    ·         I found a little lizard

on the ground behind the shed.

I was going to let him run away

    but took him home instead.

He was green with tiny spots

from his tail to his head

I got a box, punched holes in the top

and made him a little bed.

Food and water, that's what he needs

Gotta make sure he's well fed

I don't know what lizards eat

but I'm sure he won't mind bread.

My sister smiled a little smile

then looked at me and said

Lizards don't eat our kinds of food

they like bugs, they like them live or dead.

    Catching bugs? Crickets and moths?

That is something I do dread!

So I took the lizard back out side

and waved good bye to Fred.

  • It's been a long time

Face Book has sucked me! It has opened it's arms and welcomed me into it warm coziness of old friends and memories. I had a friend or two ask me about my poems, so (big breath) I am posting one here... Be kind, please?
Oh before I post it, let me say I am NOT a touchy feely poet nor am I a deep dark poet. I create childish and silly poems just to put a smile on a face. Ok

    Vinny Man's got connections

  • It's a boy!!

No! Not the baby! I'm only 14 weeks along people! We have been feeling bad and frustrated with our Beagle, he is 12 years old but still has a lot of spunk and he was lonely. We had a puppy but she ran away 6 months ago and since then Disney has been digging out and shredding things. I told Clay we needed another dog, he was thinking I was meaning a puppy. I LOVE puppies, but with a 7 month old and another on the way,  I don't have the time or energy to mess with house breaking and getting up in the middle of the night. So I explained to him I was wanting a DOG, house broken, older like 5 or 6 just to keep Disney company when we leave the house. But I also knew Clay would like a furry friend too. When we had our other dog (not the puppy, the one before that) her name was Lilly Bell, she was Clay's dog and she would snuggle with him and they were close the 7 years we had her. We were hoping the next puppy we had would be Clay's puppy too, but she didn't want to do much with any of us and ended up leaving. Clay wasn't too sure about another dog, he was concerned about me being busy with kids, school, and activities and the baby. But it got to a point where I told him we have to do something, so he got on Craigslist and found a Beagle in McKinney who's 4 years old. The owners said they haven't been able to give him the time they needed and they wanted to give him to a loving family. Clay saw his face and he said "let's ask if he's still available". A free Beagle that is very cute and sweet doesn't last long on Craigslist and this post had been up for 3 days already, but I sent an email asking about him and telling us about our Beagle and all.
I got an email back the next day saying they haven't given Pilot away because they love him so much and they wanted him to go to a good home. They said they have found one other person but liked the fact that we already had a Beagle and asked for more info about us. I told him we don't live far from McKinney and I told him about our kids and how I stay at home, blah, blah, blah. He wrote back saying that they are having a hard time of letting Pilot go, but if they do they are giving him to us. Yesterday, I get a call and it's the man saying he and his wife have decided to let us have him and he would bring him to our house that afternoon. Pilot came about 3 yesterday and he's been doing great! To add to the day, I am watching my parent's two Cocker Spaniels for the weekend, so we have a house full of dogs, but everything is fine! I will get pics up as soon as I find the cable to hook up the camera to my computer.

  • Not much to report here

Just blogging to say "hey I'm still alive!" I am slowly but surely getting all our decorations up for Christmas, I am dealing with sick kids and trying to keep this house clean. I am so bad at keeping the house clean, I get tired of the clutter, but my ADD gets in the way! I can't stick to a routine, but with kid number four on the way, I need to learn QUICK how to keep things organized and keep on top of daily tasks. So that's my story right now, any one has advise on keeping their houses clean PLEASE send em my way!

Other than that, I am 13 weeks along and doing fine. Clay was so excited about my Christmas present and he wanted me to have it for a Christmas party this Friday so he gave it to me last night. It was a silver necklace with a mom, dad and four kids all holding hands in a circle. I am not describing it well enough so I will see if I can get a pic soon. I truly love it, it is very special. The kids said "now you can't have any more kids!" I tell them that I think we are done after this one.

    Well dinner time, talk later!

  • We had a crazy Saturday, Clay, Ashlee and Alex competed in a Taekwondo tournament in Flower Mound. We were there from 10:30 - 5:30. It was crowded but fun to see the kids compete. Alex got third place in his group for sparing. But there were kids everywhere and I'm sure sicky germs were all over! So it comes to no surprise that Clay and I feel very blah all day on Sunday. Around 8:30 I had a crampy feeling in my right lower abdomen and it got a little more painful so about 9:15 I called my dr's pager. One of the doctors called me back quickly and I told her my situation, she said it could be that I have an ectopic pregnancy (baby is growing in the tube and not the uterus). She said if I want to go get a sonogram at the hospital ER she would be there. Or I could come in Monday for a sonogram at the office. I opted for the dr's office cause I didn't think it was ER bad. I went in this morning and the sonographer said that when the egg was fertilized, the ovary created a cyst. It is nothing to be alarmed about, but it does cause discomfort and mild pain. I have a hard time getting up and down and I have to walk slow, she said the discomfort should dissipate over time. I hope so, cause I feel like I can't do anything right now but just lay around and find a way to get comfy! On top of all of this, last night at about 10:30 I started throwing up and continued to do so every two hours till 5:30. I was worn out all day, Clay stayed home this morning to let me rest and go to my appointment with me. The good news is, I am fine (just a little uncomfortable!) and the baby is in there growing and has a good heartbeat! And we don't have twins so that is good too!! But if you think about it, please just pray for me and that the pain goes away. With Thanksgiving and all the holiday busyness upon us, I can't slow down too much. Have a great Thanksgiving and if you are traveling, I pray you have safe travels!
