  • Not much to report here

Just blogging to say "hey I'm still alive!" I am slowly but surely getting all our decorations up for Christmas, I am dealing with sick kids and trying to keep this house clean. I am so bad at keeping the house clean, I get tired of the clutter, but my ADD gets in the way! I can't stick to a routine, but with kid number four on the way, I need to learn QUICK how to keep things organized and keep on top of daily tasks. So that's my story right now, any one has advise on keeping their houses clean PLEASE send em my way!

Other than that, I am 13 weeks along and doing fine. Clay was so excited about my Christmas present and he wanted me to have it for a Christmas party this Friday so he gave it to me last night. It was a silver necklace with a mom, dad and four kids all holding hands in a circle. I am not describing it well enough so I will see if I can get a pic soon. I truly love it, it is very special. The kids said "now you can't have any more kids!" I tell them that I think we are done after this one.

    Well dinner time, talk later!

I think I've seen the type of necklace you're describing, and they have bracelets too. If it's what I'm thinking of, it's a perfect Christmas present!

The very best thing I did for my house before Isabella was born: got rid of a TON of stuff. It's so nice not to have clutter; to have everything I own be something I enjoy, and to not miss a single thing I gave away. I know as Bella grows and accumulates more toys, I will have to be diligent about controlling the amount of clutter again, but I believe it can be done. Makes me wish I had done it years ago.

The clean-up guru on Oprah, can't think of his name right now, says to spend ten minutes a day cleaning the clutter.  He said take two bags, one for trash and one for Goodwill and go through the room.  Just 10 minutes.  I used this method to take back our office which ended up being a catch all.  I took several bogs and a box to Goodwill and I don't know how much to the trash.  The room is clean now.  I applies the same principle to the other rooms only rather than trash and goodwill I just spent 10 minutes rapidly putting things away and throwing away the trash.  It works pretty good for me.  But then my house isn't by any means perfect but I would consider it livable.

I know the Duggars, who have 17 kids, take a certain amount of time twice aday and everyone cleans up.  The same 10 minute principle would work if everyone pitched in 10 minutes before bed a lot would get done.  Let me know if it works for you.

Clutter is my weakness.  I think I'll try writerprintcess' advice.
